What is Therapeutic Laser Therapy?
Therapeutic Laser Therapy, or Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), is a form of photobiomodulation which involves the application of monochromatic and coherent light to injuries and skin lesions to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and to promote tissue repair and nerve regeneration.
Unlike non-coherent light emitting devices, such as common LED’s and so-called SLD’s (usually just infrared LED’s), the coherent, monochromatic and polarized radiation emitted by LASER has unique, specific, and scientifically-proven effects that, at the 810nm wavelength primarily used by SpectraVET, persist deep into the tissue.
What is Laser Therapy used for?
Laser therapy is used to increase the speed, quality and strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation, and give pain relief. It shortens recovery times and can reduce the lay-off time for sporting dogs.
The SpectraVET LASER is portable so treatment can be carried out in your home, or in the field, allowing the immediate and therefore more effective treatment of sports injuries, such as muscle tears, haematomas, and tendinopathies.
